There was a time when such an event was unimaginable in American society, but now it is becoming so commonplace that we hardly bat an eye. Christine Marinoni is the latest lesbian WAG to marry, finally becoming actress Cynthia Nixon?s wife in a quiet ceremony in New York City.

After the breakup, she began dating Marinoni seriously and the couple became ?an item? around the New York social scene. The relationship reached a milestone in April 2008 when they announced their engagement to the cheers of same sex couples everywhere. They promised at the time to get married when gay weddings became legal in New York. Well, that day finally came so the culmination of their relationship occurred on May 27th, 2012, when they were finally married.
Christine gave birth to the couple?s only child (so far) together in 2011, a son named Max Ellington Nixon-Marinoni who was born February 7th, 2011 so he just celebrated his first birthday. They are keeping secret the name of the biological father of Max, but it is someone known to both of them so we hope that someday the secret will be revealed to their fans. In the meantime we are left wondering about those cute boytoys on the Sex and the City show. Of course that was purely fiction and we are now talking reality.
They had kept the pregnancy low key until the end when a baby photo was released after the birth. ?Maybe I?m just lucky, but I feel like Christine is so amazing with our kids ? because they?re our kids. Young Emiratis think working for private companies is ?inferior and unattractive? and one in four expect pay of more than Dhs25,000 per month for their first job.
That?s the findings of a study into the employment habits and aspirations of UAE nationals aged 18-23.
An official study says young UAE nationals are being put off working in the private sector by salary expectations
The research, by two lecturers at the UAE University, found that 10 per cent of those quizzed expect a monthly salary of Dhs35,000 to Dhs50,000.
One male student said he would feel ?stupid? to take a job that pays Dhs22,000 a month when two of his brothers make more than Dhs40,000 a month working for Abu Dhabi Police.
A female graduate said working for a private company would be like ?signing my death paper? because of the reduced salary and longer hours. The study was funded by the Emirates Foundation, backed by the UAE government. The authors urge a balance in government and private sector wages to encourage young UAE nationals into the private sector.
Young people like these represent a big bottleneck in the UAE economy, according to the study. Ninety-eight per cent of Emira?tis have government jobs and the pay and working conditions are so good that few want to work for private companies.
It is, according to the new study by researchers from the Business and Economics facility of UAE University in Al Ain, almost impossible for private companies to match the pay of government jobs.
This is a problem the UAE government has been seeking to correct for some time. A few months ago, it held a jobs fair in Abu Dhabi in an attempt to wean Emiratis off the massive and costly government sector. Not only is it a big drain on the public purse, it?s also stifling the UAE?s ability to compete - where are the Steve Jobs and Bill Gates of the UAE going to come from if Emiratis are far happier in comfortable government jobs?
The UAE University research, funded by the Emirates Foundation, found that young Emiratis had huge salary expectations and their view of what they should earn in companies was ?unrealistic at best?. Thirty per cent of them expect a salary of Dhs25,000 or more, while another 10 per cent expect a whopping Dhs35,000 to Dhs50,000 per month.
The survey, of 30 Emirati men and 30 Emirati women aged 18 to 23 (average age 21) found that they had ?uncompromising? views on working for private companies, which one young women said would be ?signing my death warrant? because of the longer working hours and lower pay than in government jobs.
The authors recommend a better balance between government and private sector wages to encourage young Emiratis to try working for private companies.
One male graduate quizzed in the study said he thought it was he right to have a well-paid job. He said: ?We are a rich country - thank God - and the government pays well because it can afford to do so.
?It is our right as nationals to have jobs that pay well.? So what do Emiratis think of the research? Is it fair and do they want to change the system?
?It?s true and there needs to be change for boys,? says Amina Al Suwaidi who has one boy and one girl, both under the age of five.
?The boys need to be pushed into the private sector and come up with new things, new ideas. But for my daughter, like all mothers here, I want her to have a good company job so she will not be under pressure and can look after her own children.?
So the report is accurate?
?Yes, it is time for change, but not for the girls,? she said. ?They need more time off and more stability so that their children are not raised by maids.
?But for the boys, it is time for time to take over and learn new things. Change there can only be a good thing.?

Link exchange is the act of exchanging links with other websites as a way of increasing traffic to your website and building your site?s popularity through creating inbound links. It?s when one site offers to link to the other in return for a reciprocal link. While link exchange used to be a biggest contributor to many websites? global popularity and a method through which websites could get higher rankings, nowadays it?s no longer recommendable to exchange links anyhow for various reasons.
The first major reason is that Google does not like it. Google detests links that are artificially built and prefers links built naturally through, for example, provision of quality content on your site. This takes time and that?s why many webmasters find exchanging links one of the easiest ways to build inbound links to their sites. The quickest link building methods are not the safest.
Take care! The second reason is that when you link to websites of poor quality, which are also not relevant to your niche, you devalue your website. Remember that you spend much of your time trying to build your site with quality content that pulls traffic to it. By so doing, you also build your popularity, believability and credibility. It?s therefore not wise to waste your effort by linking to a site that is not in line with the kind of business you are promoting.
That said, it?s important to know that building backlinks to your website is so important to the success of your online home business. Links pointing to your site help you to build your popularity. To exchange a link with another website, it?s recommendable to first find out how it?s viewed by Google and other search engines. If a website is blacklisted by Google for any reason and you link to it, you will have wasted your time, energy and money invested in building your online home business. Google will wake up only to find your rank dropped to oblivion. Yes, it has happened to many online businesses, including big ones, and I wouldn?t like you to share the same adverse experience.

Language register is the level of formality with which you speak. Different situations and people call for different registers. This is a concept I was talking about recently with some of my graduate students who dislike the idea of writing with a formal tone. They were commenting that they preferred to write in a conversational tone. Since our class is about learning to write up their academic research, I countered by saying that a manuscript submitted to a peer-reviewed journal was less likely to receive a favorable response from the editors if the tone was too conversational.
Some of them were unfamiliar with the concept of language register, so I gave them a quick overview based on Joos? (1967) definitions:
At this level, language is literally ?frozen? in time and form. It does not change. This type of language is often learned and repeated by rote. Examples include biblical verse, prayers, the Pledge of Allegiance, and so forth.
This style is impersonal and often follows a prescriptive format. The speaker uses complete sentences, avoids slang and may use technical or academic vocabulary. It is likely that the speaker will use fewer contractions, but opt instead for complete words. (Example: ?have not? instead of ?haven?t?).
Writing expert Rita Mae Brown might argue that a writer or speaker is more likely to use vocabulary with Latin or Greek roots at this register. For example, the writer of a scientific article may be more likely to use the word ?female? (Latin root) than ?woman? (Anglo Saxon root).
This is the register used for most academic and scientific publishing.
This is the register used when consulting an expert such as a doctor. The language used is more precise. The speaker is likely to address the expert by a title such as ?Doctor?, ?Mr.? or ?Mrs.?.
Some sources say this register is the formal register used in conversation.
This register is conversational in tone. It is the language used among and between friends. Words are general, rather than technical. This register may include more slang and colloquialisms.
Rita Mae Brown might say that at this register, speakers are more likey to use vocabulary words with an Anglo Saxon or Germanic root. Her book ?Starting from Scratch: A Different Kind of Writers? Manual? has an impressive list of (pp. 63-65) English vocabulary words that have an Anglo-Saxon or Germanic root, and their Latin root counterparts.
The language used by lovers. It is also the language used in sexual harassment. This is the most intimate form of language. It is best avoided in public and professional situations.
Unlike French, Spanish, German and other languages, English does not have different pronouns for addressing others in different registers. For example, Spanish has ?usted? for formal and consultative register and ?t?? for casual and intimate register. I never quite understood why one would address dieties with the informal ?t??, but that seems to be what is used at the frozen register, too.
Nevertheless, modern English simply has ?you?.
That wasn?t always the way. We used to have both formal and informal forms of ?you? in English. ?You? was the formal way to address another, not the informal, as many people believe.
?Thou? was informal. For example, Juliet addresses her lover informally with the famous line, ?O Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo?? (Romeo and Juliet, Act II, Scene 2).
Over time, we dropped our informal ?thou? and opted instead to use the formal ?you? in all situations and with all speakers. So, we ended up with one way to speak to everyone.
That leaves Native English speakers who have never learned an additional language at a disadvantage when it comes to learning and understanding register. There can be an assumption that all situations and all people are created equal. Needless to say, that assumption is false.
According to researchers such as Craig Storti (2001), Canadians tend to be culturally informal. They are more likely to address their boss by their first name and use a casual register more than any other. This does not mean, however, that Canadians (or anyone else, for that matter) are exempt from learning other registers and knowing when and why to change registers.
A speaker may move from one register to another with ease. For example, it is not uncommon for Canadian teachers to address one another casually in the staff room, and then adopt a more consultative register when speaking with a parent or school board trustee.
If one register is expected and another is presented, the result can be either that offense is taken (or intended) or a comic response. For example, on the TV show ?Big Bang Theory?, Sheldon?s character often uses the higher consultative register with his friends, as well as everyone else. He sometimes seems ?stuck? in the world of high-level vocabulary, unable to speak in the lower casual register that his friends use among themselves. The result is comedic. The audience laughs at his social awkwardness and inability to understand that he can (and should) adapt his speech to different contexts.
In contrast to Sheldon?s academic speech, some researchers have found that those living in poverty are more likely to be ?stuck? at the casual register. They are less likely to have developed the skills at the consultative or formal language registers. Or if they do know how to use the higher registers, it feels inauthentic to do so, like wearing a suit that does not fit properly. As a result, those living in poverty may disregard the higher registers or simply refuse to use them in their speech and writing. This, in turn, may inhibit them from advancing in their work and ultimately, getting out of poverty. The same may also apply to professionals looking for advancement or aspiring scholars who wish to publish their work.
For professional and academic writing, the formal or at the very least, the consultative register, is appropriate.
Knowing what the various registers are, how to differentiate between them and when to use which one increases your chances of being accepted by groups and speakers in a variety of contexts.

A visit to your local library may also be useful in unearthing useful information in writing. Once you have embarked on writing you need to keep a notebook or journal to record wild ideas as they come to mind, or when reading various publications. To find ideas for your writing you need to widely read magazines, newspapers, books, watch TV and so on. Give the news and have a second thought, study critically and ask questions about what is contained in them. Imagine what would have been the situation if the above facts had not. Have passed since how can the situation be made better? What are the effects of these events? Think more about them. Dream and take notes. Now comes the hard part of putting their ideas in black and white. This part can be difficult depending on your circumstances. You may have many ideas that are overwhelmed by the vast amount of information they have collected. You're stuck with lots of information sheets that you have written I do not know where to start. Alternatively, you can only have a few ideas to fit a single page and do not know where to find information to write the rest of your book or article. These are the dilemmas faced by writers at different points in time may reflect the lack of tact in handling their own work. As a writer you have to do proper planning to prevent either of these scenarios you need to have researched your market first, even before investigating the matter. This brings us to the issue of market research. It is necessary to study the audience to know your requirements. In the case of articles, you should study the writers and submission guidelines and some number of publications to know their markets well. Many writers and publications have submission guidelines on their websites. You then have to be familiar with the style guidelines. These are more or less the same as the guidelines of the writers, but may include topics such as spelling, punctuation and other aspects of grammar. It is important to read the style guidelines to prevent items being rejected. If you do not know where to find them then it is advisable to write to the editors of copies. Alternatively, you can find some in libraries and bookstores. As important as market research is research on the topic you want to write. Write down every idea you have about the topic as they come to mind without editing. Turn upside down to get new ideas. Next, decide on the angle and the inclination thereof. The last year has generated a lot of material, which can be used as a basis for his story. Then, depending on the type of article you are writing can do extensive research, taking notes as you go forward. The research could be on the internet, which is a good place to start or publications that are in the library. This is the face of planning where you decide the structure and format of your article, choose what is relevant and move towards the goal and spirit of your article. Select the ideas of research information and not word for word copy. Be careful to avoid being accused of plagiarizing the work of others or violate their copyright. Write several drafts until the full story has taken the shape and tone you like, check spelling, punctuation and other aspects of grammar and style for each project to achieve a polished article. Not a bad idea if you seek a second opinion from his colleagues before preparing the final draft. There are thousands of online writing communities that can help in that regard. What will make a successful article? Well, the answers can be varied depending on the scope and nature of the article. I think there can be no standard way of writing an article. However, we can at least agree on some universal principles of what constitutes a good article. First, any item should be captivating to the recipients or the audience. Readers should be glued to it and have a thirst for reading to the end. It will read two, three or even more or keep as a souvenir for the days and years ahead. The video, posted by a group called ?Bollywood CIA,? juxtaposes before and post-pregnancy pictures of the star, with the sound of an elephant playing in the background.

Air Force 2nd Lt. John Avrett and Meghan Kinney are hitched.
The inspirational couple we first told you about in October were recently married at the Sanderling Resort and Spa.
Avrett, a student at the Air Force Institute of Technology, and Kinney, an Olympian, won the Salute To Love competition sponsored by ObxBrides.com and Operation Homefront.
The three-day bash was to include a bachelor/bachelorette outing, rehearsal dinner and farewell brunch as wells as a cake, flowers, multiple photography sessions, fully catered reception, entertainment and an officiant.

Judge Zenaida Vilca informed Van?der?Sloot of the U.S. extradition request during a closed door meeting at Piedras Gordas prison just north of Lima. The 24-year-old Dutchman told the judge he would fight extradition, his lawyer, Maximo Altez, said.

If he stays put, Van?der?Sloot could be released on parole after serving a third of his 28-year sentence for killing a Lima woman he met at a casino in May 2010, said Altez.
But if he were convicted in the U.S. he likely wouldn't qualify for early parole in Peru. Under the U.S.-Peru extradition treaty he would be returned to Peru to finish out his sentence. Then, if he were convicted in the U.S., he would be sent there serve the second sentence.
"It's not good for us if Van?der?Sloot goes to the United States because everyone hates him there and the members of the jury will thus be biased," said Altez. "We will defend ourselves with all the legal remedies possible."
Reporters were able to see Van?der?Sloot, from about 75 feet (25 meters), enter a room for the hearing, which was also attended by representatives of the U.S. and Dutch embassies.
The Dutchman smiled at the agents who accompanied him but did not respond to calls from the news media.
If Peru's Supreme Court approves the extradition request it will then need to be approved by the country's council of ministers.
Van?der?Sloot was sentenced in January after confessing to beating and strangling 21-year-old Stephany Flores in his Lima hotel room five years to the day after Holloway disappeared on Aruba, the Dutch dependency where he grew up.
